Boating Skills and Seamanship

The Boating Skills and Seamanship (BS&S) course provides basic information for beginner and experienced boaters about power boating, including PWC operations.  Learn which boat is right for you, equipment for your boat, trailering, handling on the water, highway signs, the rules you must follow, piloting, lines and knots, weather, marine radio procedures and more.  The course qualifies as a Safe Boating course in the State of Florida.

About Boating Safely

This About Boating Safely (ABS) class will give you the knowledge needed to obtain a boat license or safety certification in many states. Our next ABS course is planned for:

About Boating Safely:  April 21 & 28 @ 8:30 AM-1230 PM.
About Boating Safely:   June 5, 6 & 7 @ 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM.
About Boating Safely: Oct. 15, 18, 22 & 25 @ 6:30-9:30 PM.

Click here for more information or contact Nancy Lee G. Waters, 697-9435.

Practical Matters

This is an extension of the BS&S core course that is offered to people who have attended one of our safe boating classes.  We devote two evenings to basic paper charting techniques.  We then have one evening of presentations and discussions on radio use and weather factors and one evening of practice and discussion of basic lines and knots.
